It was very encouraging to see Mowglisprospering in the hands of skilled and caringstaff, a dedicated and hard-working Board,and under the magnificent direction of Bob. Ithink the campus has never looked better. Coming in 2007: A new library In 1940, the new Mowglis library was dedicated in memory of Robert C. Blake (‘35). Although the library received occasional gifts of new books over the years, most of the current book inventory harkens back to those early days. The late Melissa Bowne Gulitti, a former trustee and mother of camper Jay Gulitti (Den ‘06) recognized the need to modernize the library, and shortly before her unexpected death in 2005 she took on that project. Thanks to the commitment of her husband, Joseph Gulitti, the project remained active, and on Crew Day this summer we will gather to rededicate the modernized library in Melissa’s memory. Over the course of last summer, Trustee Diana Beeton (a librarian for the Fairfield, CT school district) worked with Joseph and Jay to identify and purchase nearly 600 new books.

Camp Mowglis, Report on currently endowed funds Report on currently endowed funds The Holt-Elwell Memorial Foundation currently manages three endowed funds on behalf of Mowglis. These three funds, when fully funded by the endowment campaign in progress, are expected to provide enough income to sustain Mowglis for coming generations of campers. Growth of these funds will result from philanthropic gifts from alumni, family and friends, as well as income from intelligent fund management. Camp Mowglis, already, many of you have made generous gifts to the funds, and the dollars currently under investment are listed below. Others of you have made pledges payable over the next few years (those figures are not included below). Total of cash on hand and pledges to date exceeds $1.7 million. Abraham Unger (New York, NY) Mowglis camper: '77-'83, Staff '84-'89, '91-'95, 2000, 2001. Abe Unger is Founding President of Mosaic Colony Inc., a nonprofit arts education organization for children and teens based in Manhattan. He is also Scholar in Residence at Wagner College where he teaches in the Department of Government and Politics. Abe serves as spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Staten Island. He spent many years as a musician and actor in numerous TV commercials, films, and theater productions.

Mowglis is a non-profit residential camp located in Hebron, NH. Mowglis offers a traditional summer camping experience for boys ages 7 to 17, helping them develop confidence, independence, personal resources, and a sense of responsibility toward others and the environment….all while having fun and making lifelong friends.  Campers come from all over the world, representing as many as 20 states and 10 countries each year.
